Another page finished just in the nick of time. Unforeseen circumstances prevented me from finishing it sooner, but at least this time I was able to work at a more leisurely pace.
This page was added to the story fairly recently. Ben's not the sort of character who actually needs a backstory, but I felt it was important to establish the emotional stakes of these battles; to give the characters a reason to fight beyond monetary gain, and to give the connection between Kreature and Tamer greater depth than just owner/pet or even mere friendship. I was at a loss as to how to convey the essence-mixing concept, but then I remembered the old saying that "the eyes are the windows into the soul." The visual metaphor ended up looking creepier than I intended, but I felt it was effective in getting the point across.
In site update news, profiles for Kraaspine and Soleilian have been added to the Kreature Archive. Also, here's a legible version of Ben's license.

That eye-splice panel still gives me the shivers. I’d never noticed, but the eyes honestly suit each character. Especially Kristy. In hindsight, those eye-rings for koobine were a stroke of brilliance.
